Revered as the greeting card industry’s equivalent of the Academy Awards, the Greeting Card Association’s Annual International Greeting Card Awards – known as the LOUIEs – recognize the best greeting cards and stationery products. Studio Expressio was pleased to be named a finalist two times: in the Christmas/ Holiday/Humorous (above $3.00) category in 2008 and in the Romance (above $3.00) category in 2010. In addition, Studio Expressio was honored to be named the winner in the “Superbly Stated” (above $3.00) in 2008.

How it started... the story behind the studio

A cup of coffee started it all. Make that two cups of coffee—a mother and daughter’s creative intuition and collaborative effort created the concept of Studio Expressio, a place where sophisticated design and clever verse converge. The vision, however, came long before.

Deborah Payne’s graphic design career represents more than 20 years of professional experience working with corporations, universities and small businesses to design communications that inspire and inform. As the owner of a small design firm, she has enjoyed successful relationships with clients such as IBM, Energy East Corporation and Cornell University. After devoting much of her career to designing corporate identity, annual reports and advertising promotions, she is delighted to finally pursue a more personal passion: designing fun and contemporary greeting cards.

The creative writing is the genius of daughter Valerie, an English and Journalism graduate who received a law degree in 2009.

Studio Expressio has always had a commitment to our planet and future generations. From our debut collections — printed in the USA on FSC-certified recycled paper using vegetable inks — to our newest collections printed on 100% recycled paper with 30% post-consumer waste...we are going greener with every line we introduce!

You'll find 100% recycled brown bag envelopes in our greenest eco•brights line, which also includes biodegradable sleeves. Plus, the premium metallic envelopes in our newest fab florals line are recycled!
